Springdale AR Shooting; Marianna Man Killed Springdale Shooting, Ashton Balentine Jr. Arrested

A Marianna man was killed in a shooting in Springdale on Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from the Springdale Police Department. Police identified Willie Tillman, 19.

The shooting happened at 2:48 p.m. at a home on Wayland Avenue.

According to court records, Ashton Balentine Jr. shot Tillman and his ex-girlfriend with a Glock 17 with a Glock “Switch” which is a piece of equipment used to modify the standard semi-automatic Glock to turn it in to a fully automatic style machine gun.

Court records state Balentine went to a Springdale home through an unlocked front door, went to his ex-girlfriend’s bedroom and opened fire. A witness stated Ashton came to the home after learning the female victim was with a new boyfriend.

Police said the female victim’s child was in a crib near where the victims were shot.

Balentine is facing several charges including Capital Murder, Attempted Capital Murder, and Burglary.
